Yesterday, November 15, the Russian military did not strike targets in Kyiv, all the destruction in the residential areas of the city occurred as a result of the fall of Ukrainian missiles, the representative of the Russian Defense Ministry, Lieutenant General Igor Konashenkov, said.
“We also want to emphasize in particular: during the massive strike on November 15 by high-precision weapons against objects in the territory of Ukraine, not a single missile attack was carried out against objects in the city of Kyiv. All the destruction demonstrated by the Kyiv regime in residential areas of the Ukrainian capital is a direct consequence of the fall and self-destruction of anti-aircraft missiles fired by Ukrainian troops from Ukrainian and foreign air defense systems located within the city,” he said.
Konashenkov also stressed that all the goals of yesterday’s massive strike were achieved, critical infrastructure and military command and control facilities were hit.
The day before, November 15, Ukrainian media and local officials reported on the operation of the air defense system in Kyiv. Information about the explosions was later confirmed by the mayor of the city, Vitali Klitschko.
In Ukrainian cities, air raid alerts have been sounding regularly since the beginning of last month. On October 10, the Russian military began to strike at Ukraine’s critical infrastructure. Russian President Vladimir Putin, during an operational meeting with members of the Security Council, said that such a decision was made in response to Ukrainian attempts at terrorist attacks on Russian territory, including an explosion on the Crimean bridge. He emphasized that the reaction to such actions would be tough.
