The Russian military recorded the movement of two brigades and one regiment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the special operation zone and inflicted a fire defeat on them. This was announced by the head of the press center of the RF Armed Forces group “Center” Alexander Savchuk, transmits “RIA News”.
Movements of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were identified on the Nevsky site and in the area of the Serebryansky forestry, he specified. “As a result of the fire impact of the artillery units of the Center group, the enemy suffered significant losses in personnel and equipment,” Savchuk said.
The press service added that the positions of the Ukrainian military were also hit in the Krasnolimansky direction with the help of a multiple launch rocket system (MLRS). Also, during the counter-battery fight, Russian artillerymen suppressed the positions of cannon artillery and mortars of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Russian aircraft attacked ammunition depots, strongholds and points of temporary deployment of the enemy in the areas of Yampolovka in the DPR, as well as Kremennaya and Chervona Dibrova in the LPR, Savchuk noted.
On the eve, May 20, in the Ministry of Defense reportedthat the grouping of troops “Center” defeated the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the areas of Ploshanka and Kuzmino in the LPR. The Russian military also eliminated Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance groups (DRGs) in the areas of Torsky in the DPR and Kremennaya in the LPR. In addition, on the night of May 21, the defense department stated about the complete capture of Artemovsk in the DPR.
The Russian special operation in Ukraine has been going on since February 24, 2022. According to the Ministry of Defense, since the beginning of hostilities, the Russian Armed Forces have destroyed 428 aircraft, 234 helicopters, and over 4,200 UAVs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In addition, Russian troops hit more than 9,200 enemy tanks and other armored fighting vehicles.
