The Ministry of Defense announced the reflection of eight attacks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Donetsk direction

The Russian Armed Forces (RF Armed Forces) over the past day repelled eight attacks in the Donetsk direction, informed press service of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

“The active actions of the units of the “Southern” group of forces during the day repelled eight enemy attacks in the areas of the settlements of Kirovo, Pervomayskoye, Krasnogorovka, Nevelskoye and Maryinka of the Donetsk People’s Republic,” the report says.

According to the defense department, during the day the armed forces of Ukraine (APU) continued to attempt an offensive in the Zaporozhye, South-Donetsk and Donetsk directions.

In particular, the Armed Forces of Ukraine unsuccessfully tried to attack under the cover of smoke screens in “several waves” in different districts of the Zaporozhye region, using up to three battalion tactical groups reinforced with tanks and armored fighting vehicles. The attacks were repulsed by the actions of units of the Vostok group of troops, air strikes and artillery fire, the Defense Ministry specified.

In addition, in the Kharkiv region and the LPR, it was possible to stop the activities of two sabotage and reconnaissance groups, and air defense systems intercepted a Storm Shadow long-range missile and two HIMARS multiple rocket launchers in a day.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine have been conducting offensive operations since June 4. On June 9, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine had definitely begun, but the Ukrainian army was not able to achieve its goals in any sector. According to the Ministry of Defense on June 14, since the beginning of the offensive, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have lost 7,500 people killed and wounded.
