Two Tu-95MS strategic missile carriers completed a planned flight in the airspace over the neutral waters of the Bering Sea, informed press service of the Ministry of Defense.
The missile carriers were escorted by Su-30 fighters of the Air Force and Air Defense Forces of the Eastern Military District.
It is specified that the duration of the flight exceeded 7 hours. Such long-range aviation flights are regularly carried out over the neutral waters of the Arctic, the North Atlantic, the Black and Baltic Seas, and the Pacific Ocean, the Defense Ministry recalled.
“All flights of aircraft of the Aerospace Forces of Russia are carried out in strict accordance with international rules for the use of airspace,” the defense department stressed.
In mid-December, the Ministry of Defense reportedthat two strategic missile carriers Tu-95MS of long-range aviation of the Aerospace Forces of Russia performed a planned flight over the neutral waters of the Sea of Japan. During the flight, the missile carriers were accompanied by Su-30SM and Su-35S fighters, the total duration of the flight also exceeded 7 hours.
