The Ministry of Defense announced the liberation of the village of Kleshcheevka in the DPR

Volunteers of the assault detachments, with the support of aviation, artillery and rocket launchers, liberated the village of Klescheevka in the DPR, informed press service of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation in the Telegram channel.

“In the Donetsk direction, the settlement of Kleshcheevka of the Donetsk People’s Republic was liberated by volunteers of assault detachments, with fire support from operational-tactical and army aviation, missile troops and artillery of the Southern Military District,” reads a regular report of the defense department dated January 20.

The defense department also announced the liberation of the village of Lobkove in the Zaporozhye region.

Earlier today Headquarters of Territorial Defense of the DPR informedthat Russian troops liberated the village of Kleshcheevka near Artemovsk. The day before, on January 19, the founder of PMC “Wagner” Yevgeny Prigozhin declared about taking control of the settlement of Kleshcheevka, which “is one of the important suburbs” of Artemovsk.

Two days ago the Ministry of Defense reported about taking control of the settlement of Sol in the DPR. Before that, on January 12, it became known about the complete liberation of Soledar. In the Ministry of Defense emphasizedthat this is of great strategic importance for the further offensive: the Russian army will have the opportunity to block the supply routes of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Artemivsk and take the Ukrainian troops remaining in it into the cauldron.

Russia’s special operation in Ukraine began on February 24, 2022. President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin called the protection of the inhabitants of Donbass, as well as the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine, its goals. During the special operation, Russian troops took full control of the LPR, as well as most of the DPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions. Subsequently, these territories became part of Russia, and on October 19 martial law was introduced in the regions.
