The Russian Ministry of Defense issued a statement on its telegram channel saying that today the Strategic Missile Forces launched a ground-based intercontinental ballistic missile from the Kapustin Yar training ground in the Astrakhan region.
The Russian defense department clarifies that the launch was carried out as part of state testing of promising missile systems and the results obtained confirm the reliability of Russian missiles to ensure the strategic security of the Russian Federation.
“The launch objectives were completed in full,” the Russian Ministry of Defense said in a statement.
At the same time, residents of several regions of Russia began to post photographs and videos of an object moving in the sky on social networks following the launch.
