The Russian Ministry of Defense expanded the network of points for selecting citizens for military service under a contract and increased the number of instructors to work with candidates, informed June 3, the press service of the department.
According to the ministry, there are more people in the country who want to serve under a contract, and Russians can apply to the selection point on “any convenient day of the week.”
“An individual approach is applied to each candidate, allowing to take into account his preferences. All selection activities are carried out in close cooperation between the Russian Ministry of Defense and the heads of regions,” the statement said.
In Moscow, the Moscow region and Bashkiria, work on the recruitment of contract servicemen is most effectively organized, the Ministry of Defense said. There, the selection points work according to the principles of the MFC, and the specialists are located in the same building, which “at times” reduces the time for going through all the procedures and concluding a contract.
In mid-January, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu announced that all planned changes in the Russian army, including an increase in its strength to 1.5 million people, would be implemented Until 2026, the Minister urged to pay special attention to the recruitment of contract soldiers, ensuring the timely supply of weapons, increasing the number of training grounds in military districts and new territories, etc. Shoigu also instructed to work out the issues of training cadets and students in the universities of the Ministry of Defense and specialists in the training centers of the Armed Forces.
