The Ministry of Defense announced the destruction of positions shelling the Belgorod region

Artillerymen of the Western Military District (ZVO) are destroying positions from which the Armed Forces of Ukraine (APU) are shelling the territory of the Belgorod region with pinpoint strikes. This is reported by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
“As part of the counter-battery fight, the artillerymen of the Western Military District identify the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and destroy artillery pieces, mortars, accumulations of enemy manpower with pinpoint strikes,” says in the department’s Telegram channel.
The blows are delivered from the Msta-B and D-30 howitzers. In a published video, one of the Russian servicemen said that the intelligence report on the positions of the enemy gunners go to the firing position. In addition to howitzers, drones are used for correction. In particular, during the filming of the video, the Russian military destroyed two targets.
The Russian army is hitting platoon strongholds of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which are located along the Russian border and from which the enemy is shelling the country’s territory, the artilleryman said.
The Russian special operation in Ukraine has been going on since February 24, 2022. Since that moment, the border regions of the Russian Federation have been regularly shelled by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. On the eve of June 13, Russian President Vladimir Putin, at a meeting with military commissars, admitted that “it could probably be better prepared” for enemy strikes on Russian territory. He promised that the problem would be solved. Back in February, the head of state urged The Ministry of Defense should not allow shelling of the border regions from Ukraine.
In the Belgorod region, a high (“yellow”) level of terrorist danger is indefinitely. Since October 19, 2022, by decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin, the average level of response has been set in the region. The same regime operates in seven other subjects of the Russian Federation – Crimea, Sevastopol, Krasnodar Territory, Kursk, Voronezh, Bryansk and Rostov regions.
