The Russian military during a special operation attacked the positions of the Sheikh Mansur battalion in the area of the village of Konstantinovka, transmits press service of the Ministry of Defense in the Telegram channel.
“In the area of the settlement of Konstantinovka of the DPR, as a result of a concentrated strike, more than 55 extremists of the so-called “Sheikh Mansur battalion”, as well as six units of armored and automotive equipment, were destroyed,” the message says.
The Sheikh Mansur Battalion is a military unit of Chechen volunteers that fights on the side of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and consists mainly of Chechens who left Chechnya during the second Chechen war. Named in honor of the first imam of the Caucasus and the leader of the Caucasian highlanders of the late 18th century, Sheikh Mansur.
In April, the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, promised $1 million for information about the whereabouts of the Dzhokhar Dudayev and Sheikh Mansur battalions. “The information must be 100%. We must destroy them: either they kneel and ask for forgiveness from the Chechen people and all Muslims, or their heads will be cut off, – said he.
