The Ministry of Defense announced the destruction of a group of foreign mercenaries in the DPR

The Russian Armed Forces during the offensive in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) destroyed a consolidated group of foreign mercenaries, during the day the enemy’s losses amounted to 60 people, informed press service of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
“In the course of offensive actions in the Donetsk direction, Russian troops destroyed a combined tactical group of foreign mercenaries and defeated units of the 10th mountain assault brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the area of the settlement of Razdolovka of the DPR,” the defense department said in a report.
According to the ministry, the enemy’s irretrievable losses per day in this direction amounted to 60 Ukrainian servicemen and mercenaries, four armored personnel carriers and three pickup trucks.
In addition, over the past 24 hours, Russian aviation shot down a Su-27 aircraft of the Ukrainian Air Force in the DPR, and Mi-24 and Mi-8 helicopters were shot down. Air defense systems, according to the Ministry of Defense, also shot down the Ukrainian Mi-8, managed to intercept 15 drones in the DPR, LPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions.
Chief of the General Staff Valery Gerasimov said earlier that at present the main efforts of the Russian troops are focused on the complete liberation of the DPR. He added that the Russian Armed Forces continue to strike at critical objects of the transport and energy infrastructure of Ukraine, as well as at warehouses with ammunition and military equipment.
Russia’s special operation in Ukraine began on February 24. Russian President Vladimir Putin called the protection of the inhabitants of Donbass, as well as the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine, its goals. During the special operation, Russian troops took full control of the LPR, as well as most of the DPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions. Subsequently, these territories became part of Russia, and on October 19 martial law was introduced in the regions.
