The Ministry of Defense announced the destruction of a drone over the Belgorod region

The Russian air defense system detected and shot down a Ukrainian drone over the Belgorod region, as a result, no one was injured. About it reported press service of the Russian Ministry of Defense.

“Today, at about 9.00 Moscow time, an attempt by the Kyiv regime to carry out a terrorist attack by an aircraft-type unmanned aerial vehicle on objects in the Russian Federation was thwarted. By means of air defense, a Ukrainian strike UAV was detected and destroyed over the territory of the Belgorod region,” the report said.

Previously, Governor of the Belgorod Region Vyacheslav Gladkov informed on the operation of the air defense system in the region on August 15. Then the drone was seen in the sky over the Shebekinsky district. As a result, the drone was shot down, no one was injured. On August 14, in the air, the air defense system was shot down two targets over the village of Pushkarnoye in the Belgorod region.

On August 13, the Ministry of Defense reported three downed drones over the Belgorod region, the fourth drone was intercepted around 22:00 Moscow time. On the same day, Gladkov reported that one drone flew into an apartment building in Belgorod. There was an explosion, as a result of which the building and cars parked below were damaged. Later, Gladkov clarified that due to the fall of the drone in Belgorod suffered 10 year old girl. She was taken to the hospital, the condition of the child is assessed as satisfactory.

The authorities of the Belgorod region regularly report shelling from Ukraine. Since October 19, 2022, by decree of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, a “medium response level” has been established in the region. The region also has a high (“yellow”) level of terrorist threat indefinitely.
