The Ministry of Defense announced the defeat of the base of foreign mercenaries in the Zaporozhye region

The Russian military hit the point of deployment of foreign mercenaries near Zaporozhye. This is reported by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

“In the area of ​​the city of Zaporizhzhia, the point of temporary deployment of foreign mercenaries was hit,” – says in the departmental summary.

In addition, in the Zaporozhye direction, the Armed Forces (AF) of the Russian Federation repelled three attacks by the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Uspenovka and Rabotino districts of the Zaporozhye region. The Russian military stopped five attacks in the Donetsk direction, four in the Kupyan direction, three in the Yuzhno-Donetsk direction, and two more in the Krasnoliman direction.

Russian troops improved their tactical position in the areas of Olshany and Pershotravnevo in the Kharkov region. An attempt by the Armed Forces of Ukraine to conduct reconnaissance in force was thwarted near Staromayorsky DPR.

The day before, August 10, the Ministry of Defense reported on repelling an enemy attack near Uspenovka, Zaporozhye region. In the areas of Torsky and Avdiivka of the DPR, two command posts of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were destroyed. In the Kupyansk direction, Russian troops also improved their position along the front line.

Against the backdrop of the offensive of the Russian Armed Forces, the Ukrainian authorities announced about the evacuation in the Kyiv-controlled Kupyansky district of the Kharkiv region. People will be taken out from 37 settlements. Later, the head of the Russian-controlled military-civilian administration of the Kharkiv region, Vitaly Ganchev declaredthat the Russian military had to go “a few kilometers” to Kupyansk.

The Russian special operation in Ukraine began on February 24, 2022. During the hostilities, Russian troops took full control of the LPR, as well as most of the DPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions. In the fall of 2022, the subjects, following the results of referendums, became part of Russia. Martial law has been introduced in the regions since October 19.
