The Russian military continues its offensive in the Yuzhnodonets and Zaporizhia directions, in the area of ​​​​Vogledar in the DPR, the enemy was hit by fire. This is reported by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

“In the South-Donetsk and Zaporozhye directions, units of the Vostok group of troops, continuing offensive operations, inflicted fire damage on the enemy in the areas of the settlements of Vugledar of the Donetsk People’s Republic, Pavlovka and Levadnoe of the Zaporizhia region,” says in another departmental report.

In total, the enemy lost up to 60 people in these areas, the Defense Ministry specified. Also, in the areas of Vuhledar (DPR), Chervonoye and Kantserovka (Zaporozhye region), two storage facilities for fuel for military equipment and three storage facilities for artillery ammunition of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were destroyed. In addition, a Ukrainian Su-25 aircraft was shot down near Vuhledar, the ministry added.

According to the Ministry of Defense, the enemy lost 20 servicemen in the Kupyansky direction, and up to 70 killed and wounded in the Krasnolimansky direction. It is noted that in the Donetsk direction, the units of the “Southern” group of troops took more advantageous positions during the offensive. During the day, more than 40 Ukrainian servicemen were killed there, the department added.

In the Kherson direction, the Russian military liquidated three D-20 howitzers, a Gvozdika self-propelled howitzer, as well as two American AN/TPQ-37 and AN/TPQ-50 counter-battery radars.

Earlier today, the authorities of the DPR reportedthat the Russian military entered Ugledar and entrenched themselves on the outskirts of the city. Igor Kimakovsky, adviser to the acting head of the DPR, added that Ukrainian troops are trying to carry out counterattacks, but Russian artillery is hitting the enemy.

Russia’s special operation in Ukraine began on February 24, 2022. President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin called the protection of the inhabitants of Donbass, as well as the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine, its goals. During the special operation, Russian troops took full control of the LPR, as well as most of the DPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions. Subsequently, these territories became part of Russia, and on October 19 martial law was introduced in the regions.
