The spring conscription of citizens for military service has been completed, 147,000 people have been called up and sent to the Russian Armed Forces and other military formations, informed press service of the Ministry of Defense.

The main work on the conscription of citizens was entrusted to the employees of the military commissariats, they fulfilled the state task “in a difficult environment, in the face of negative influence from foreign media, aimed primarily at disrupting the implementation of conscription activities, as well as discrediting” the Russian army, the report says. .

The draft commissions, as recalled in the defense department, have been working since April 1, and they began to send conscripts from the assembly points of the Russian regions to the troops from April 20. Conscripts could do military service in various types of the Armed Forces and branches of the armed forces, taking into account their state of health and the results of professional psychological selection, young people were given uniforms, bank cards and travel bags, the Defense Ministry added.

According to the ministry, 14 flights of aircraft of the RF Armed Forces, nine military echelons, 153 civil aviation flights, more than 2,000 carriages in passenger trains, as well as road transport of military units were used to transport conscripts. Most of the servicemen were enrolled in training formations and military units, where they will master military equipment for five months and then receive a military registration specialty.

Spring conscription in Russia began on April 1. According to the decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin, it was planned to send 147,000 people aged 18 to 27 to serve. More than 5,000 citizens will be called up in Moscow, said the military commissar of Moscow, Colonel Maxim Loktev. Earlier, he stressed that recruits would not be sent to the DPR, LPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions.

In mid-April, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law on the creation of a digital registration system for those liable for military service. The amendments were adopted by the State Duma immediately in the second and third readings on April 11, and the very next day the law was approved by the Federation Council. According to the changes, citizens will not be able to leave Russia from the moment they receive the summons until they appear at the military registration and enlistment office. Also, in case of failure to appear, there may be a ban on state registration as an individual entrepreneur, deprivation of the opportunity to drive a vehicle, conclude real estate transactions, etc.
