The Ministry of Defense announced the capture of seven strongholds of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Olshan area

Russian troops captured seven strongholds and nine observation posts of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Olshan region of the Kharkiv region and defeated a Ukrainian infantry company. About it informs “RIA Novosti” with reference to the head of the press center of the group “West” Colonel Sergei Zybinsky.

During the fighting, the Armed Forces of Ukraine carried out four counterattacks, they were repulsed. “The losses of the enemy amounted to a platoon of manpower, one armored personnel carrier of the British production “Spartan”. Two militants were captured,” Zybinsky said.

The enemy made three more attempts at offensive operations in the defense zone in the Novoselovsky area. Russian troops repelled all attacks, the losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine amounted to an infantry platoon, the colonel specified.

August 6 Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reportedthat the Russian military advanced into the depths of the enemy’s defense in the Olshan area and captured four strongholds, seven observation posts of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and also defeated the enemy’s manpower to the company. As follows from the report published by the military department on the same day, the Armed Forces (AF) of the Russian Federation repelled eight attacks and counterattacks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the areas of Olshan, Sinkovka, Kharkiv region and Novoselovsky LPR.

The Russian special operation in Ukraine began on February 24, 2022. During the hostilities, Russian troops took full control of the LPR, as well as most of the DPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions. Subsequently, the subjects became part of Russia. The Armed Forces of Ukraine have been conducting active offensive operations since June 4. The Kremlin has repeatedly stated about the lack of success of the Ukrainian army.
