The Ministry of Defense announced the capture of more advantageous lines in the Yuzhnodonetsk direction

Russian troops occupied more advantageous lines in the Yuzhnodonets direction. This is reported by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

“In the course of offensive actions in the South-Donetsk direction, units of the Eastern Military District occupied more advantageous lines and destroyed more than 30 Ukrainian servicemen, two armored combat vehicles and three pickup trucks,” — says in the next report of the department dated January 19.

In the Kupyansk direction, the Armed Forces (AF) of the Russian Federation hit enemy units in the areas of the settlements of Novoselovskoye in the Luhansk People’s Republic and Ivanovka in the Kharkov Region. As a result, more than 30 Ukrainian soldiers were destroyed. In the Krasnolimansky direction, the enemy’s losses amounted to more than 60 people, in the Donetsk direction – up to 80.

In addition, the ammunition depots of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were hit in the areas of the Nevsky LPR and Karlovka DPR. In the DPR, the Russian military also destroyed the AN / TPQ-50 counter-battery radar, according to the Ministry of Defense.

Earlier today, the founder of Wagner PMC Evgeny Prigozhin informed about taking control of the settlement of Kleshcheevka, which “is one of the important suburbs” of Artemovsk (DNR). This village is not mentioned in today’s report of the Ministry of Defense.

The day before, January 18, the defense department reported about taking control of the settlement of Sol in the DPR. Before that, on January 12, it became known about the complete liberation of Soledar. In the Ministry of Defense emphasizedthat this is of great strategic importance for the further offensive: the Russian army will have the opportunity to block the supply routes of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Artemivsk and take the Ukrainian troops remaining in it into the cauldron.

Russia’s special operation in Ukraine began on February 24. Russian President Vladimir Putin called the protection of the inhabitants of Donbass, as well as the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine, its goals. During the special operation, Russian troops took full control of the LPR, as well as most of the DPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions. Subsequently, these territories became part of Russia, and on October 19 martial law was introduced in the regions.
