The Ministry of Defense announced an attempt by the Armed Forces of Ukraine to break through the defenses in the Artemovsk region

The Armed Forces of Ukraine tried to break through the defenses of the Russian army in the area of Artemovsk (Ukrainian name – Bakhmut), but could not succeed. About it says in the daily report of the Ministry of Defense on the progress of the special operation.
“The Armed Forces of Ukraine, having failed to achieve the goals of the offensive and having suffered significant losses in the Yuzhnodonetsk direction, made attempts to break through the defenses of our troops in the Donetsk direction in the area of the city of Artemovsk. <...> The enemy did not achieve the goal of the offensive,” the ministry said.
As a result, the Armed Forces of Ukraine lost up to 415 people in the Donetsk direction, but were never able to penetrate the defense of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. In total, eight attempts to attack the Armed Forces of Ukraine were repelled.
In the Yuzhnodonets direction, the Armed Forces of Ukraine lost about 190 servicemen, as well as eight tanks, including two French AMX-10 wheeled tanks. On the Vremevsky ledge, the Russian Armed Forces repelled three attacks by two Ukrainian battalions in the area of \u200b\u200bthe settlements of Neskuchnoye in the DPR and Levadnoye in the Zaporozhye region.
The day before, June 6, the Ministry of Defense reported that the offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was concentrated on the Vremevsky ledge. As a result, the Ukrainian army suffered heavy losses and reformatted “the remnants of the 23rd and 31st mechanized brigades into separate consolidated units” that operated in the area of the settlements of Novodarovka and Levadne. In addition, the 37th Marine Brigade, together with a unit of the 68th Mountain Jaeger Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, began to advance in the direction of the Oktyabrsky state farm and Novodonetsky. A complex fire defeat was inflicted on them, as a result of which “the enemy was stopped” and could not achieve the assigned tasks. The Ministry of Defense pointed to “significant damage” to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
In the Kupyansky direction, Russian troops stopped the activities of three Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance groups, the activities of two more DRGs were stopped in the Krasnolimansky direction. In the area of the settlement of Avdeevka, the DPR, the Russian Armed Forces destroyed two fuel depots of the 110th mechanized brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
