Ukraine made an attempt to attack objects on the territory of Moscow and the Moscow region with a drone, reported Ministry of Defense of Russia.
“This afternoon, an attempt by the Kyiv regime to carry out a terrorist attack by an aircraft-type UAV on objects in Moscow and the Moscow region was thwarted,” the report says.
The device was detected by the air defense system and suppressed by means of electronic warfare (EW). As a result, having lost control, a drone in a deserted area near Putilkovo, Krasnogorsk city district, no one was injured, the Defense Ministry added.
The last time the Armed Forces of Ukraine tried to attack objects in Moscow and the Moscow region with the help of drones on the night of August 18. Around 04:00 Moscow time, the drone was shot down by an air defense system, after which it changed its flight path and fell on a non-residential building near Krasnopresnenskaya embankment. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin clarified that the wreckage of the drone fell in the Expocentre area. The building received minor damage. As a result of the incident, no one was injured.
Last time Sobyanin informed about a drone attempt to attack Moscow on August 11. Then the fragments of the drone fell in the area of Karamyshevskaya embankment. As a result, no one was hurt. Against the background of the incident, the Vnukovo airport stopped receiving and releasing aircraft from 09:40 Moscow time. Similar measures were introduced at the Kaluga airport. By 10:50 Moscow time, the airports resumed work as usual.
