The Ministry of Defense announced a missile attack on enterprises serving the Armed Forces of Ukraine

On February 16, Russian troops launched a missile attack on enterprises supplying fuel and ammunition to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, according to the daily summary Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

“On February 16, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation carried out a concentrated missile strike with long-range air and sea-based high-precision weapons against enterprises that provided the armed forces of Ukraine with fuel and ammunition,” the report says.

All the intended objects were hit, the goals of the strike were achieved, they added there. As a result of this strike, the supply of fuel to the Ukrainian forces was allegedly disrupted, and Ukraine’s production capacity for explosives, gunpowder and solid rocket fuel was severely reduced.

Over the past day, Russian troops continued offensive operations in the Donetsk direction, destroying up to 200 military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, two D-30 howitzers and one D-20. In other directions, the Russian Armed Forces continued to carry out artillery and air strikes against the positions of Ukrainian forces. In the Kherson direction, the Armed Forces of Ukraine lost one installation of the HIMARS multiple launch rocket system, as well as two ammunition depots of the 124th and 129th brigades of the territorial defense of Ukraine. In addition, a Mi-8 helicopter of the Ukrainian Air Force was shot down near the village of Nikolskoe.

In the Yuzhnodonetsk and Zaporozhye directions, attacks were made on Ukrainian positions in the Ugledar region in the DPR, as well as the villages of Olgovskoye and Magdalinovka in Zaporozhye. In the Kupyansky direction, the Ukrainian side lost up to 80 servicemen and two armored combat vehicles, and in the Krasnolimansky direction – up to 90 military personnel, the installation of the Grad MLRS and two Akatsiya self-propelled howitzers.

Russia’s special operation in Ukraine began on February 24, 2022. President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin called the protection of the inhabitants of Donbass, as well as the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine, its goals. During the special operation, Russian troops took full control of the LPR, as well as most of the DPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions. Subsequently, these territories became part of Russia, and on October 19 martial law was introduced in the regions.
