The Ministry of Construction has developed a plan to restore Mariupol in three years

The Ministry of Construction of Russia has prepared a master plan for the complete restoration of Mariupol in three years, which involves, in particular, the construction of 1.03 million square meters. m of social infrastructure, the press service of the department said.

“Already now, a project has been launched in Mariupol to restore and build life-support facilities for citizens. Total according to preliminary data in 2022-2025. on the territory of the city it is planned to build and restore about 1.03 million square meters. m of social infrastructure. According to the developed master plan, we expect that we will be able to fully restore Mariupol within three years,” said Minister of Construction and Housing and Utilities Irek Fayzullin.

During this time, modern apartment buildings, social facilities and convenient infrastructure will appear in the city, the Ministry of Construction notes. In particular, in Mariupol, the airport will be reconstructed, the railway station will be modernized, and a transport interchange hub will be created, including an automobile, railway station and a new sea passenger port.

In general, the target scenario for the development of Mariupol has been developed until 2035, the Ministry of Construction emphasized.

It is planned to hold a competition with the participation of well-known Russian architects for the execution of works in the historical part of the city.

The President then instructed to build a multidisciplinary medical center in Mariupol, and a perinatal center in Donetsk. Khusnullin suggested that it will be possible to launch the centers at the beginning and end of 2023, respectively. In addition, the head of state supported the initiative to issue housing certificates to the residents of Mariupol, whose houses were destroyed during the hostilities.

The fighting for Mariupol began at the end of February and lasted for almost two months. At the end of April, Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu reported to Putin that the entire residential development of the city had been taken under control by Russian troops. On May 20, Shoigu reported on the completion of the operation and the complete liberation of the territory of the Azovstal metallurgical plant in Mariupol.
