In 2022, agricultural production in Russia may increase by 3.5%, said the Minister of Agriculture of the country Dmitry Patrushev, transmit “RIA News”.
“If we talk about preliminary forecasts for the industry this year, I would like to note that we expect the agricultural production index to be at the level of 103.5%,” said the head of the RF Ministry of Agriculture. According to Patrushev, the Russian food market is fully provided with its own oil and fat, meat, fish products, sugar, pasta, cereals, etc.
The Minister noted that for the nine months of 2022, an increase in production volumes was recorded for these positions. In 2021, agricultural production in Russia decreased by 0.9% compared to the previous year.
In summer Patrushev declaredthat the department recorded an increase in the production of agro-industrial complex (AIC) products in all areas. According to him, this trend may continue until the end of 2022. In July, he announced that, following the results of five months, the index of agricultural production amounted to 102.3%.
Patrushev noted the livestock segment, as there were difficulties in this sub-sector in the first half of last year. But thanks to the “launch of new projects and the stabilization of the epizootic situation,” this segment showed a positive trend in 2022. Thus, the production of livestock and poultry increased by 6.5%, including more than 7% growth in pork and poultry, the Minister of Agriculture said. In addition, Patrushev said that indicators in the food and processing industry increased by almost 1.5%. And such dynamics may continue at the end of the current year, he added.
