The Ministry of Agriculture has agreed on a plan to stabilize prices for poultry products

The Ministry of Agriculture expects stabilization of prices for poultry meat and eggs due to an increase in supplies from Russian producers for the domestic market, the press service reported.

“A plan has been agreed with the main producers to further increase volumes to meet the needs of the domestic market,” the ministry said (quote according to RIA Novosti).

The department, together with the Ministry of Industry and Trade, is organizing work to encourage manufacturers and retail chains to enter into long-term contracts for the supply of products, which will ensure the predicted supply volumes and retail prices, the press service added.

Earlier, Rosstat published data on inflation, according to which prices for chicken meat have increased by 29.66% since the beginning of the year, and eggs by 21.16%. Food products in October rose in price by 1.35% compared to September, an annual increase of 6%.

Prices for fruits and vegetables increased by 23.99% y/y, in monthly terms – by 1.91%. The increase in prices for tomatoes is at the level of 31.1%, garlic – by 8.5%, bananas – by 5.8%, oranges – by 3.6%, grapes – by 2.1%. Prices for potatoes, in turn, decreased by 8.9%, white cabbage – by 7.7%, carrots – by 6.6%, apples – by 6%, lemons – by 2.4%, table beets – by 2.3%.

At the end of July the cost of a kilogram of chicken reached historical maximum – 196.93 rubles. The previous record was set in April 2022, when the cost of a kilogram of chilled and frozen chicken was 191.84 rubles.
