The ban on the export of sunflower seeds from Russia, which is valid until August 31, will not be extended. An export duty of 50% extended until August 31, 2023 is sufficient.
“The Ministry of Agriculture is not considering extending the ban on the export of sunflower seeds after August 31. At present, the agency considers the effect of the export duty on these products in the amount of 50%, which has been extended until August 31, 2023, to be sufficient,” “Interfax” in the department’s press office.
The ban on the export of sunflower and rapeseed was introduced on April 1 due to a sharp increase in demand for Russian products, which occurred due to a jump in prices on the world market. The Ministry of Agriculture explained that it made this decision to meet the needs for raw materials for processing and animal husbandry. At the end of May, the department said that they were not going to lift the ban on sunflower exports after September 1.
