Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova said that in 2022, 9 regions did not achieve poverty reduction targets. In four regions over the past year, the level of poverty has increased. According to Ms. Golikova, in all subsequent years, the minimum wage (SMIC) will increase at a faster pace. In addition, this year the government will create a register of those in need.
“We made a decision, and this decision was supported by the president and the chairman of the government, the decision that in all subsequent years the minimum wage will increase at a faster pace,” said Ms. Golikova at an expanded meeting of the collegium of the Ministry of Labor. At the same time, she noted that this would require a different ideology on wages in the public sector.
According to Mrs. Golikova, about 140,000 pensions have already been assigned in the new regions, and another 240,000 cases are being prepared. “There are certain deterrents that are associated with obtaining passports and entering the citizenship of the Russian Federation, but the Social Fund is working ahead of the curve, preparing the relevant pension files,” she added.
