The minimum wage (SMIC) will exceed the subsistence level of an able-bodied person by 30% by 2030. This was announced at a meeting with the LDPR faction by Minister of Labor and Social Protection Anton Kotyakov. From January 1, the cost of living is 14,375 rubles, minimum wage — 16,242 rubles.
“We plan to achieve a ratio of 1 to 1.3 by 2030. That is, the minimum wage will exceed the subsistence minimum by 30%,” said Mr. Kotyakov (quoted from “Interfax”). In 2024, the minimum wage will exceed the subsistence minimum by 17% and will amount to 19,242 rubles.
The minimum wage cannot be less living wage since 2018. From June 1, 2022, the minimum wage was increased to 15,279 rubles.
