The military of Belarus will work out the liberation of temporarily occupied territories during the exercises

In Belarus, command and staff exercises have begun, during which the conduct of hostilities to liberate the territory temporarily captured by the enemy will be practiced. reported in the press service of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic.

The exercises will last until September 14 at the Brest training ground and a number of areas in the Minsk and Vitebsk regions. The military has also been tasked with working out the restoration of control over the state border in the areas of responsibility of associations, air support for troops, ensuring martial law by force, combating enemy sabotage and reconnaissance groups (DRGs) and illegal armed formations.

“The number of troops involved, weapons and military equipment does not exceed the level subject to mandatory notification in accordance with the Vienna Document 2011,” the press service said in a statement.

The exercises will be held under the leadership of the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces – First Deputy Minister of Defense of Belarus Viktor Gulevich. To observe the course of the exercise, the Belarusian side invited representatives of the military-diplomatic corps of foreign countries accredited to the Ministry of Defense of the Republic.

In August, Russian and Belarusian military personnel of the Air Force and Air Defense held joint exercises at the training grounds of the two states, BelTA reported. The exercises were carried out in two stages: from August 9 to 11 on the territory of Belarus, and from August 22 to 25 – at the Ashuluk training ground in the Astrakhan region.

From August 30 to September 5, large-scale command and staff exercises Vostok-2022 were held in Russia, in which military contingents of other states took part. How reported earlier, from the Armed Forces of Belarus, more than 250 military men were planned to participate in these exercises.
