Russian military commander Yarem said in his personal Telegram channel that the Ukrainian military in some areas of Bakhmut are preparing positions for all-round defense. The units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have turned apartment buildings into a kind of fortress.
“The buildings are prepared for all-round defense, have long-term firing positions on the lower floors and sniper/observation positions on the upper ones,” he said.
The military commissar drew attention to the fact that the Ukrainian military is actively digging trenches in the city.
“The trenches that the Armed Forces of Ukraine are now digging in Bakhmut are most likely not trenches. These are the passages of communication between the houses-fortresses. The trenches are straight, not zigzag, without shooting cells, that is, just oblong pits. At least what caught my eye,” he added.
Earlier, Prigozhin invited Zelensky to meet in Bakhmut.
