President Vladimir Putin, during the “Strong Ideas for New Times” forum, said that his message to parliament “taking into account the internal political calendar” will set tasks for the next six years. According to him, it is important for the president to talk with the forum participants as part of preparing the message.
“Now, to be honest, it would also be very important for me to listen to you in connection with the fact that a message to the Federal Assembly is being prepared. This is a statement of tasks, which, of course, we strive to develop and achieve their solution. But taking into account the internal political calendar, this will be setting tasks for the next at least six years,” the president said (quoted by TASS).
Vladimir Putin noted that he expects strong ideas from the forum participants so that they “can be formulated properly and not only in the message, but also in the country’s development program for the near historical perspective.” According to him, promising initiatives are often voiced at such forums. The “Strong Ideas for New Times” forum has been held since 2020, and annually involves socially significant initiatives and projects of citizens from all over the country.
The President will address the Federal Assembly with his annual message on February 29. In the message, the president traditionally announces his assessment of the situation in the country and outlines the state’s goals for the future. The 2023 address was also announced in February; it became the 28th in the modern history of Russia and the 18th for Vladimir Putin.
