The Indonesian Ministry of Tourism has proposed canceling visas for Russian citizens. The media reported on Thursday, December 7th.

The information that Indonesia could simplify the visa regime for Russians was called overblown by the Republic’s Ambassador to Moscow, Jose Tavares. Back in the spring of this year, he noted that the governor of Bali’s proposal to abolish visas for Russians was put forward due to numerous violations of migration legislation.

In June of this year, information appeared that Indonesia decided not to renew the visa-free regime with 159 countries, including Russia.

Previously Sri Lanka abolished visa fees for Russian citizens. The project for issuing free permits for Russians will be valid until March 31, 2024.
