The media learned about Zelensky’s plans to fire Zaluzhny

The Ukrayinska Pravda publication published material citing sources, which claims that the alleged conflict between President Vladimir Zelensky and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny has reached a critical point. The article says that Zelensky is considering the possibility of dismissing Zaluzhny.

Sources of the publication claim that Zaluzhny does not like Zelensky’s communication with some commanders of the Armed Forces of Ukraine directly, bypassing the commander in chief, and the commander of the Ground Forces Alexander Syrsky and the Armed Forces Nikolai Oleshchuk are cited as examples. Zaluzhny, according to the publication, is extremely dissatisfied with this, since he often receives information only at bets or not at all. According to sources, “this greatly demotivates the commander-in-chief, and most importantly, it interferes with command of the entire army.”

Sources cite the resignations of a number of high-ranking military leaders and criminal cases, as well as checks at military registration and enlistment offices, due to which “mobilization indicators are falling,” as other examples of the conflict.

It is alleged that relations between Zelensky and Zaluzhny “strained after the start of the counteroffensive in the south” and that the commander-in-chief allegedly complained about the situation to Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin during a visit to Kyiv. The latter, according to sources, then reported this conversation directly to the president’s office, which further deepened the problem.

The publication notes that Zelensky’s office is considering the possibility of Zaluzhny’s resignation, but the decision is difficult, as it will contribute to the political career of the commander-in-chief. Ex-adviser of the office Alexey Arestovich (listed in the Russian Federation as terrorists and extremists) previously stated that he considers Zaluzhny to be real Zelensky’s rival in the presidential elections. Officially office refutes the presence of any conflicts, insisting that there is a normal work process between the president and the commander-in-chief.
