The media learned about the transfer of new drones to Kyiv by the end of the year

The German defense concern Rheinmetall will supply Ukraine with new Luna NG unmanned systems by the end of the year, informed Bild newspaper.
The delivery, as noted, will consist of a ground control station with several drones, a launch catapult and military trucks. According to the publication, the Luna NG drone is superior in performance to the previous model of devices. Drones can be used not only as a reconnaissance system, but also to provide an LTE network, intercept or jam communications, the material says.
Other drone models have already been delivered to Ukraine from the warehouses of the Bundeswehr. The German Armed Forces should also receive armed drones. Before that, the government will have to develop and approve the rules for their application, Bild points out.
On July 11, Germany announced a new package of military assistance to Ukraine for 700 million euros. It was reported that the new package will include, among other things, two Patriot air defense systems, 40 Marder infantry fighting vehicles and 25 Leopard tanks. Also, Kyiv will be provided with 20,000 artillery shells and 5,000 155-mm caliber ammunition, reconnaissance and combat drones, etc. The package includes 31 positions in total. German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius reported that Germany is in second place in terms of military aid provided to Ukraine.
In mid-May, Reuters, citing a statement from the concern, wrote that Rheinmetall and Ukroboronprom would create a joint venture for the production and repair of tanks in Ukraine. In July at the Russian Foreign Ministry warnedthat if the plant is built, this facility will become a legitimate target for the Russian army.
