The German automaker Mercedes-Benz has disconnected Russian dealers from its own software. About it reported “Izvestia” with reference to the distributor of cars of this brand in Russia “MB Rus”.

“Indeed, dealers are disconnected from the manufacturer’s online software systems. In some cases, the lack of access to online systems will lead to an increase in the repair time, ”the company noted, adding that access was disabled, including to online systems that are used for maintenance and problem identification.

Information about problems with access to the software was also confirmed by the Russian Automobile Dealers Association. In addition, according to the sources of the publication, problems are also observed in BMW.

According to Petr Shkumatov, a member of the public council at the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in Moscow, Mercedes used to collect information about the technical condition of the car, which made it possible to identify a malfunction in a matter of seconds and quickly fix it. Now it will take more time to diagnose. According to him, in connection with this, the flow of customers to unofficial service stations, which are now working with third-party software, will increase.

On October 25, 2022, Vedomosti, citing sources, reported that Mercedes will sell its plant in the Moscow region to the Avtodom dealer. On April 25, Avtodom reported that the deal was closed. As part of this transaction, Avtodom received Mercedes-Benz Rus JSC (official distributor in the Russian Federation), a plant in the Moscow region, a leasing subsidiary of Mercedes-Benz Financial Services Rus, as well as a subsidiary bank Mercedes-Benz Bank Rus and a car leasing, factoring and insurance company, Mercedes-Benz Capital Rus. In addition, Avtodom has the right to carry out maintenance of cars of this brand – both warranty and post-warranty.
