Aeroflot is preparing firm contracts for the supply of 52 Russian aircraft

In September, Aeroflot intends to conclude firm contracts with the leasing company Aviacapital Service (owned by Rostec) for the supply of 34 imported short-haul SJ100 aircraft and 18 medium-haul MS-21 aircraft. As Mr. Aleksandrovsky clarified, the SJ100 liners will replenish the fleet of the Rossiya airline (part of Aeroflot), it should receive the first two aircraft by the end of the year. According to him, the main pool of spare parts for the SJ100 will be formed by the Yakovlev company (part of the Rostec United Aircraft Corporation). Aeroflot should transfer MS-21 at the end of 2024. The possibility of concluding firm contracts for the supply of Tu-214 aircraft is also being considered.
Oleg Panteleev, Executive Director of Aviaport, added that SJ100 aircraft will be in demand, among other things, to create new regional hubs in the regions. “Under the current conditions, 100-seat cars will continue to be used on certain international routes with departures from the regions,” he specified.
As Kommersant found out, the cost of the new Russian MS-21 aircraft with delivery in 2028-2030 is estimated at 4.3-4.6 billion rubles. The State Transport Leasing Company sent such a proposal to airlines that are not part of Aeroflot. This is more expensive than analogues from Airbus and Boeing. Ministry of Finance said, which is about 280 billion rubles. will be allocated to the project from the National Welfare Fund.
