Al Monitor TV channel reports that one of the representatives of the political leadership of the Islamist organization Hamas, Ismail Haniyeh, could be expelled from Turkey after a “polite” request from the Turkish government.
The authors of the material note that this step was taken to avoid the impression that Hamas was being protected by Turkey.
The channel also reports Hamas’s disappointment in Turkey’s position on the conflict with Israel. Representatives of the Islamist group expected a more decisive approach from Ankara and its ability to put pressure on Israel.
