The mayor of Kyiv announced the explosions in the city

Explosions occurred in Kyiv, said the mayor of the Ukrainian capital Vitaliy Klitschko in his Telegram channel.

“Explosions in the Shevchenko district of the capital. Services have already left for the place, ”he wrote.

Later, Klitschko clarified that 10 drones had allegedly been shot down over Kyiv and the Kyiv region by air defense systems. An air alert has been declared in the city and region, transmits TASS.

Russia’s special operation in Ukraine began on February 24. As a result, all 17 designated targets were hit, the Defense Ministry said. The department emphasized that no strikes were made on Kyiv that day.
