The maximum gap between the regions of the Russian Federation in terms of average salary is 4.4 times, as follows from data released by Rosstat for 2023. In 2022, this difference was slightly smaller – 4.3 times. The maximum nominal accrued salaries were recorded in the Chukotka (158 thousand rubles per month) and Yamalo-Nenets (145 thousand rubles) autonomous districts, as well as in Moscow (136 thousand rubles). The minimum is in Ingushetia (36 thousand rubles) and Chechnya (37 thousand rubles). According to statistics, the maximum increase in 2023 was demonstrated by the salaries of workers in the Kurgan region (21%), Chuvashia (20.9%) and Mari El (19.5%). As previously reported, in the Russian Federation as a whole, the average accrued salary in 2023 was 73.7 thousand rubles. Compared to 2022, it increased in nominal terms by 14.1%, in real terms – by 7.8%.

The maximum salaries, as before, are paid in the field of oil and gas production (on average 180 thousand rubles per month), in the field of finance and insurance (169 thousand rubles), as well as in the production of tobacco products (140 thousand). rub.). According to estimates from the Ministry of Labor, which the department released on Friday, the largest increase in wages – by more than 20% – was noted in the production of clothing, leather and leather goods, computers, electronic, optical and finished metal products, electrical equipment and vehicles.

In this regard, Rosstat statistics, if we consider salary growth as an indicator of high employer competition for employees, do not correlate with assessments of personnel services and online platforms. They stated that the maximum deficit and, therefore, the maximum increase in salaries was observed among IT specialists, couriers and blue collar workers (see Kommersant of September 27, 2023).

According to the “Work in Russia” portal, among the most in-demand and highly paid specialists in 2023 are electrical engineers, chemical engineers, and design engineers. They noted that, for example, in the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug one of the employers is willing to pay 240 thousand rubles. monthly to an engineer with a higher technical or engineering-economic education and more than five years of work experience. It is also reported that mechanics are in demand in the industrial production sector; salary offers for them are up to 200–220 thousand rubles.
