The maximum amount of sick leave payments for one day will double by 2025 – from 2.7 thousand in 2023 to 5.7 thousand rubles. This was reported “Izvestia” in the press service of the Ministry of Labor. In 2024, the maximum hospital benefit will be slightly higher than 4.1 thousand rubles.
The amount of benefits depends on the employee’s earnings. Salaries are taken into account for the two previous calendar years. When paying for sick leave issued in 2025, salaries for 2023 and 2024 will be used for calculation. The increase in the maximum amount of benefits is associated with the introduction of a single tariff for insurance premiums from January 1, 2023, the Ministry of Labor explained.
By 2025, the ceiling on the amount of maternity benefits will also increase: up to 794.4 thousand rubles will be paid for 140 days of maternity leave. Currently, the maximum amount of such payment is 383.2 thousand. In 2024, it is planned to increase the limit to 565.6 thousand rubles. The maximum amount of monthly childcare benefits for children under 1.5 years of age will increase from 33.3 thousand to 68.9 thousand in 2025. In 2024 it will increase to 49.1 thousand rubles.
As a result, in 2025 the Social Fund will spend on benefits payments: temporary disability benefits – 703.3 billion rubles, maternity benefits – 184.3 billion rubles, child care benefits – 244.6 billion rubles.
