The German company Boehringer Ingelheim has stopped importing the drug Mikardis to Russia, Roszdravnadzor reported. The agency assured that this does not affect the availability of drugs with the active ingredient telmisartan.
“Boehringer Ingelheim LLC (the organization accepting complaints from consumers) officially notified Roszdravnadzor on July 13, 2022 that it has stopped importing Micardis (international nonproprietary name telmisartan) and Micardisplus (international nonproprietary name hydrochlortmazide + telmisartan) into the territory of the Russian Federation from January 2023,” the department said (quote from TASS).
It was reported that there was a shortage of the drug Micardis, used for arterial hypertension, in Russian pharmacies. “Vedomosti”. A representative of Roszdravnadzor told the newspaper that the remains of Micardis amount to about 23 thousand packages. The Russian office of Boehringer Ingelheim reported that the company continues uninterrupted supplies of vital drugs to the country.
Earlier, the Ministry of Industry and Trade announced that, together with a number of relevant departments, in October this year it would launch a pilot project on the traceability of pharmaceutical substances in the Russian Federation. This will allow companies with full-cycle production to receive additional preferences at government tenders, which, in turn, will stimulate business interest in further localization in the Russian Federation.
