The main obstacle for the United States in providing assistance to Kyiv has been named

American political scientist Malek Dudakov in conversation with “Lentoy.ru” stated that the obstacles for the United States in allocating funds to continue supporting Ukraine are of a domestic political nature. He pointed out that assistance to Kyiv has become a subject of bargaining between Republicans and Democrats, but nevertheless, a new tranche could be agreed upon between the end of December and the end of January.
As the expert noted, Republicans and Democrats continue to bargain behind the scenes, making attempts to get “better conditions.” He noted that for Republicans, the issue of assistance to Ukraine is a lever of pressure on Democrats on issues such as, for example, the deportation of illegal immigrants. According to Dudakov, the democrats, in turn, need new tranches to support the “Ukrainian project.”
However, the expert urged not to delude himself, emphasizing that the money will be allocated in any case. He admits that this could happen between December 20 and January 20, but Dudakov doubts that it will be possible to agree on the required $60 billion. The political scientist added that the Republicans are ready to allocate only 20-30 billion, and this is very unpleasant news for Ukrainian lobbyists, since these funds are not enough for “victory” and successful military operations. At the same time, Dudakov noted that this money will be enough to prevent complete defeat.
