In the Luhansk direction, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in some areas begin to “run out of steam” and go on the defensive, said Andriy Marochko, an officer of the people’s militia of the Luhansk People’s Republic (LPR), transmits TASS.
“The enemy does not stop trying to attack our positions. <...> But I would like to note that there is a positive trend: in some areas it is clear that the enemy is running out of steam, already moving from active offensive operations into maneuverable defense and, in general, into a dead defense, ”Marochko said.
Formerly an officer of the People’s Militia of the Republic declaredthat the Ukrainian military concentrated the main forces in the Lugansk direction, noting that the Armed Forces of Ukraine have been trying to break through the defense line for a long time. Marochko called the situation in the Luhansk direction difficult and hot. According to him, this direction is one of the priorities for the Ukrainian command.
The regions of the LPR are under shelling from Ukraine almost daily. Today, earlier the head of the administration of Bryanka informedthat as a result of the night shelling by the Ukrainian troops in the city, apartment buildings were seriously damaged, and there were wounded among civilians.
The representative office of the LPR at the Joint Center for Control and Coordination of Issues Related to War Crimes of Ukraine (JCCC) on Wednesday, November 17, provided an update on shelling by the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the LPR since the start of the special operation. During this period, Ukrainian troops fired 492 rockets from the HIMARS MLRS in the republic. 491 civilians became victims of the aggression of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, of which 123 people died and 368 were injured. As a result of the shelling, seven children were killed and twenty-eight were injured. Destroyed and damaged 3176 houses in 79 settlements.
