A young man wakes up in the center of the earth, naked, unaware of who he is, connected to a long umbilical cord which sinks into a maze of spongy galleries. It follows this cord like an Ariadne’s thread, from gut to gut, until it finds the point where it sinks into the rock and detaches itself.

The first boards of this dreamlike album resemble a bad dream. But soon a solution presents itself. Here is the young man in the crater of a mountain of waste, carcasses of furniture, cars, boats piled up, embedded. There is even a life-size Christ and the head of a goddess buried in what looks like a graveyard of civilization. Above, a twilight sun casts a post-apocalyptic glow over the world. But humanity has not yet entirely disappeared, nor have the forests. Perhaps it is possible to save them. This is what the author of this comic strip, Zéphir, 30, seems to say, who believes in the power of words and art to raise awareness…
