How the Party of Deeds is liquidated

In November 2023, the Ministry of Justice appealed to the Supreme Court with a claim to suspend the activities of the Party of Cause. Lapushkin then explained to Vedomosti that from February to June 2023, the federal Ministry of Justice and territorial departments carried out inspections of branches. As a result of the inspection, they were sent a warning with a requirement to re-elect the working bodies and make changes to the charter before September 1, 2023. For example, on the website Babkin was listed as “party leader,” and the Ministry of Justice demanded that the name be replaced with “chairman” in accordance with the charter. By the end of the year, the Supreme Court suspended the lawsuit in connection with the ongoing election campaign. During this period, suspension of activities or liquidation of the party was not allowed. After the elections, as follows from the Supreme Court file, on April 2, the proceedings on the Ministry of Justice’s claim were resumed. The first meeting is scheduled for April 22. At the same time, in February 2024, the Party of Cause itself appealed to the Constitutional Court with a complaint against the provisions of the law on basic guarantees of citizens’ voting rights. The reason for filing the complaint was the refusal to register the list of candidates due to an insufficient number of reliable voter signatures for the 2022 elections to the Legislative Assembly of North Ossetia.
