The largest diamond mine in the last 10 years was mined at the Mayat diamond mine in the Anabar region of Yakutia. About this in the Telegram channel reported company “Alrosa

The precious stone weighing 390.7 carats was mined by the Almazy Anabara company, part of Alrosa.

“The diamond found is a light crystal of irregular shape, bordered by a yellow-brown halo – a combination of mass, shape and color that is unique today,” the report says.

The company’s workers discovered the crystal on September 9 during night washing of the diamond-bearing sands at the Ebelyakh site of the Mayat mine. A large colorless diamond weighing 37.7 carats with a classic octahedral shape was also mined there. Both crystals were sent for expert assessment of morphological characteristics.

Previously, the largest gem-quality diamond weighing 401 carats was found in 2013.
