The Kyiv Court of Appeal arrested the former Minister of Defense of Ukraine in absentia

The Kyiv Court of Appeal arrested the ex-Minister of Defense of Ukraine Mikhail Yezhel in absentia. He was charged with treason for participating in the development of the Kharkiv agreements in 2010. The decision of the court was reported in the office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine.
According to the investigation, in April 2010, the defendant “by prior agreement” with the ex-president of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych, Prime Minister Mykola Azarov, the heads of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Justice approved the Kharkiv agreements. In August, Ezhel was charged.
Earlier it was reported that the State Bureau of Investigation of Ukraine completed an investigation against Yanukovych and Azarov on charges of treason for signing the Kharkiv agreements. Also accused in this case, the former head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Grishchenko, the former Minister of Justice Lavrynovych and the former Minister of Defense Yezhel, were declared by Ukraine on the state and international wanted list.
