The Kyiv City Council changed the Russian names of 26 libraries and schools

The Kiev City Council decided to change the names of 14 educational institutions and 12 libraries because of “Russian names.” The decision is stated on the website of the capital’s deputies.
The list of renamed schools includes educational institutions named after Alexander Pushkin and Yuri Gagarin.
Among the libraries that have changed their names are the libraries named after Lermontov, Dostoevsky, Griboyedov, Chukovsky and others. The “Friendship of Peoples” and “Young Guard” libraries will also have a different name.
