General Director of the Kupol plant Ziyatdinov said that the company is modernizing the Tor air defense system

General Director of the Izhevsk Kupol plant, which is part of the Almaz-Antey concern, Fanil Ziyatdinov, in a conversation with the National Defense magazine, shared information about the beginning of a deep modernization of the anti-aircraft missile system (SAM) of the Tor family. According to him, it is planned to significantly improve the combat capabilities of the future complex.

“The new short-range anti-aircraft missile system will significantly expand its combat and operational capabilities and will differ from current models even more than the Tor-M2 from the Tor-M1,” Ziyatdinov noted.

Ziyatdinov also noted that 10 years ago the plant produced only one type of product – the Tor-M2U air defense system, while today the newest Tor-M2 air defense system is produced in four versions.

It was previously announced that the CSTO countries are interested in purchasing the Adjutant universal target training complex, Ziyatdinov said. Experts also highlighted the advantages of the Russian Sarmat missile over the American Minuteman III.
