The Kremlin urged to focus on Putin’s words on the issue of mobilization

On the issue of completing partial mobilization, one should be guided by the statement of Russian President Vladimir Putin. Thus, the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov commented on reports of a letter to the deputy of Yabloko from the presidential administration (AP), which stated that the decree on partial mobilization continues.

“Look, we are guided by what the President said. As part of the partial mobilization, the number that was planned to be mobilized was provided in the Russian Federation, and that’s it – then the usual call for military service began, ”he stressed.

Peskov admitted that the wording of the Presidential Administration is a “legal feature.” The Kremlin representative promised to clarify this issue and once again urged to trust the words of the head of state.

Partial mobilization took place in Russia from September 21 to October 31, 2022. The Ministry of Defense announced plans to call up 300,000 troops, however, according to Russian President Vladimir Putin, 318,000 people were mobilized, as a large number of volunteers wanted to go to the war zone.

After that, the authorities repeatedly stated that the mobilization in Russia had been completed, and denied plans to announce a new wave. Back in the fall of 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin stressed that this issue was “finished”.

At the same time, no additional documents on the completion of partial mobilization in Russia were signed by the head of state. Putin promised to discuss this issue with lawyers, noting that he did not think about the need to sign a separate decree on the completion of partial mobilization. Peskov later said that this document was not needed. According to him, such a conclusion was made by the state legal department of the presidential administration.

At the same time, on January 17, a deputy of the Pskov regional assembly from the Yabloko party Artur Gaiduk published a response from the presidential administration regarding the cessation of partial mobilization in Russia. They noted that the action of the decree continues.
