The Kremlin stood up for Ani Lorak: it helps the DPR, Peskov vouched for it

Director Nikita Mikhalkov, on the air of his original patriotic program, said that he became interested in the scandal surrounding the Ukrainian singer Ani Lorak amid accusations of allegedly “financing the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” and found out the truth. According to Mikhalkov, he submitted a request to the administration of the President of the Russian Federation, “to the structures that deal with such issues.” And, according to him, he received a response from the Kremlin.

The answer cited by Mikhalkov states that after the start of the Northeast Military District, Lorak, “being under the emotional influence of information about the beginning of active hostilities, posted several posts in her social networks in support of Ukraine.” However, now Lorak “takes an active part in a charity fundraiser for children who suffered during the SVO.” It is also reported that the singer visited a family of refugees from Donbass in the Moscow region, “given a washing machine, children’s clothing, hygiene items, household chemicals, and food to the family with three children.”

“And also provides financial assistance to the State Budgetary Institution “Miner’s Orphanage for the Disabled” in the DPR,” the quoted message says.

In addition, the published response states that “Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov vouched for Ani Lorak’s loyalty.”

“The time between chairs is over. We need to make a decision,” Mikhalkov added on his own behalf.

At the beginning of the year, Lorak spoke publicly for the first time revealed her position according to current events – then one of her concerts was under threat. The singer stated that she loves her native country Ukraine, explained the reasons for moving to Russia and emphasized that she does not support “any form of violence.” Lorak also pointed out that she is “a musician, not a politician.” The concert in Krasnodar was canceled anyway after the scandal. Later, another performance by the artist fell through – already in Turkey, because of Ukraine’s position.
