The Kremlin reported the absence of a clear position on the status of PMCs

Now the Kremlin does not yet have a clear position on the issue of recognizing private military companies at the legislative level. This was announced by the press secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov.

“So far there is no clear position on this matter. There is some discussion here. It will continue,” he said.

On the need for a law that would regulate the activities of PMCs, Vedomosti told Andrey Kartapolov, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Defense, who specified that parliamentarians are now working on such an initiative. In his opinion, the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff need to think about how to use the potential of Wagner PMC “to the maximum, but for peaceful purposes”, in particular, the deputy expressed the idea of ​​changing the leadership in the company.

After that, Andrey Klishas, ​​Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Constitutional Legislation and State Building saidthat the development of a separate law on PMCs is not relevant.

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko took part in the negotiations to resolve the situation. According to the agreements reached, Prigozhin announced the return of fighters and equipment to field camps, and he himself would move to Belarus. On June 27, the FSB announced the termination of the criminal case against the founder of the PMC.
