Dmitry Peskov commented on the expectations from the appointment of the Ambassador of the United States of America to Russia.

When asked by a correspondent whether the leadership of the Russian Federation pins any hopes on the next US envoy, Putin’s press secretary reacted without enthusiasm.

“You can hardly pin your hopes on the United States Ambassador to Moscow,” Peskov replied. “No. To be honest, no.”

Recall that on September 4, US Ambassador to Russia John Sullivan, appointed to the post in December 2019, left Moscow, ending his 40-year career in civil service.
